MicroSeal
It’s that time of the year, the holiday rush. Everyone wants their homes done in time for holiday parties, out of town guests, and family gatherings.  As it can be a bit stressful, we love making our clients happy and seeing their excitement when we complete their projects. We just came back from an install of a beautiful family room.
Many photos to come, but here is a sneak peak of 2 chairs in the room that we made here at Judy’s Custom Workroom. We LOVE this ikat fabric. It is Kravet: Bansuri – 515. The wood frames we stained in “driftwood” stain. Â The chairs turned out wonderfully and our client was very excited to have a fresh new family room in time for Christmas.
Above is TJ Chamberlein from MicroSeal treating our furniture.
Right after we create new furniture or reupholster, we always recommend MicroSeal to our clients. MicroSeal is a permanent stain and sun fade protectant that includes a first class, life-time warranty. Twenty five years protecting Aerospace Industry giants and worldwide independent laboratory tests back all our performance claims.
It is environmentally safe as well. It’s non allergenic and non toxic, safe on or around people, pets, and plants. No fluorochemical, or PTFE ingredients. Our proprietary trade secret formula has an EPA rating of GRAS (generally recognized as safe) and is non-toxic, non allergenic and biodegradable. To check out their website click here. It is an awesome treatment that makes your furniture truly last a lifetime!
Here is another chair we reupholstered with the same fabric.
Before the country wingback garden chair was covered in a traditional small check. We loved the detail in the wood frame and wanted to give it a fresh new look. We reupholstered it with this fun ikat fabric and added silver nail heads for a contemporary touch.
Orange Coast Interior Design
Wonder what is going on at Orange Coast Interior Design & Judy’s Custom Workroom lately?
This week we are in the early stages of designing 3 clients’ homes-selecting fabrics and materials, producing renderings, and conceptual images…
Below are selections for a contemporary great room. The colors are dark brown, ivory, and turquoise with an accent of orange and silver. The wallcovering we want to use is a chocolate crocodile faux leather. We think the vaulted ceiling would be awesome if painted metallic silver!
Below are some possible accent and drapery fabric.
We plan on making most of the furniture illustrated below here at Judy’s Custom Workroom.
We would love to make 4 contemporary wingback chairs in a turquoise velvet with textured ivory leather backs and silver nailheads.
Here are some materials we have put together for another client’s a dining room/living room and family room/nook
Our client is debating adding some blue into the space. This Harlequin stripe fabric is perfect!
The wallcoverings we have selected are also Harlequin.
Below are fabrics, materials and inspiration photos for a whole home remodel. We love this gray and yellow color scheme!
The design is transitional- we are creating and selecting traditional furniture pieces and furnishings, but in contemporary colors and finishes.
Many of the fabrics are from Duralee’s Suburban Home and Designer Eileen Kathryn Boyd.
This home is currently in demolition and we are so excited to get started!!!
Stay tuned for more photos of these homes and project updates!

Before and After: Glamorous Bedroom
We are currently working with a client who sent us this thank you letter. She originally called us to simply fix a poorly made table skirt for her bedroom. She was so happy with our work ethic and excited about the ideas we had for her that she wanted to continue working with us. We have completed her master bedroom and are now working on her master bathroom, powder room, and entry.
“I want to thank you for helping me take some bold steps and step out of my comfort zone for without you the beauty that is unfolding before me in my home would never have been possible. You have such a way of gently encouraging one to take a leap of faith with you and then voila! the appreciation of your collaboration is manifested in the “look†and feel of the space. I look forward to the transformation my home and especially my bedroom with your designs and expert craftsmanship…this is so fulfilling and exciting! My sincere appreciation for what initially was a botched table skirt became a complete vision exceeding my expectations!”
We wanted to share this and emphasize again that it does not matter how big or small a project is here. We are happy to help and love when clients are this excited about their transformations.
