Designers We Love to Work With: Deirdre Eagles

Did you visit the beautiful Philharmonic House of Design in Laguna Beach this year?

Southern California interior designers transformed the 20th annual Philharmonic House of Design into a stunning retreat showcased from April 24th to May 20th. Funds raised support the Philharmonic Society of Orange County. The mission of the Philharmonic Society, a not-for-profit organization, is to foster, promote and increase the knowledge and appreciation of music and the arts through the presentation of performances of national and international stature and the development and implementation of a wide variety of education outreach programs.

We had the pleasure of working with Deirdre Eagles, the interior designer responsible for transforming the home’s kitchen and nook.  Deirdre Eagles Interior Design an award-winning full service residential interior design firm. The firm handles projects of all sizes and scopes, while specializing in kitchen and bathroom remodeling and custom homes. The firm has done projects throughout Southern California.

Deirdre (above) asked us at Judy’s Custom Workroom to come on board for her window treatments and some of her furniture. We were happy to help such a good cause and work with such a kind, committed designer.

Kravet Showroom Visit

While visiting the Laguna Design Center for their Spring Market Day, we made sure to stop by Kravet. We love their fabrics and enjoy working with them! They had Judy’s Custom Workroom do some drapery for their showroom recently and we thought we would take a look at it installed!

This fresh fabric is Lee Jofa embroidered linen “Nolita- Brass/Wheat” lined with Kravet linen “24575-1”.

We also love the Kravet Couture fabric on the pillows: “Main Focus- Citrus”

The drapery hardware is a part of Kravet’s Barabara Barry Indochine collection pictured below. The collection comes in 6 different finishes. We used the “Soft Silver” with “Secret Key” finials and “Perfect Circle” rings.

Here are a few more pictures of what Kravet has to offer for drapery hardware. They have many great options for traditional and contemporary treatments.

And of course while we were there we had to admire the new colorful Windsor Smith collection…

…and oh so bright Lee Jofa Lilly Pullitzer fabrics!

Thank you Kravet! We look forward to doing more work for your showroom in the future.

Before and After Bedroom

BEFORE:

AFTER:

What was done? The room was painted a soft blue and a custom headboard, bedding, cornice boxes, drapery panels, and reupholstered bench were added to created a soothing retreat for our client.

We love the headboard we designed for this bedroom. We used a powder blue suede and added silver nailheads and crystal brooch buttons.

Before and After: Family Room and Nook

BEFORE:

A family room and nook in need of window treatments and comfortable furniture conducive for conversation and television viewing. Before the scale of the client’s existing sofa limited the placement. The rooms lack color and connection.

AFTER:

After getting to know our client and understanding their needs, we designed a beautiful space that would be perfect for their family. We were drawn to these cool shades of blue, white, and taupe. A darker distressed wood floor was the canvas for custom window treatments and furniture. A custom rug was added to bring everything together.

Window treatment fabric: Stark Orsan-7360235

All of the furniture was created here at Judy’s Custom Workroom. We love these chairs!

Fabric: Kravet Bansuri-515

The family room is a small space so we created a custom ottoman with nailheads for storage. We also created a slightly smaller sofa with slimmer arms than the previous sofa to allow for more seating. The furniture now fits the room beautifully and the cool colors and “driftwood” finishes tie everything together.

Sofa fabric: Trend 02115-Driftwood

Pillow fabrics: Kravet 31592-516 and Stark Blk Canyon-7890349

Headboards: Imagine the Possibilities!

Here at Judy’s Custom Workroom, we are constantly creating custom upholstered headboards.

The possibilities are endless- crazy shapes, nailheads, tufting, buttons, piping, rhinestones, you name it.

Ready for some inspiration?

Here are some wingback styles…

Simple but so elegant…

Notice the nailhead details…

Love how this headboard extends the whole width of the wall.

Anything is possible shape-wise!

Contrast piping and buttons…
