Product Arrivals: Texture Fabrics
We got a sneak peak of Texture Fabric’s latest and cannot wait until these fabric books come in next week!
Texture Fabric has exclusive designed fabrics from all over the world. They are known for their elegant designs with superior construction and excellent color palettes. The newest collection’s focus is luxurious design ranging from classic to modern. The collection consists of 2 color books – NEUTRALS and HUES – that feature a mix of subtle and richly colored embroideries, jacquards, prints, solids and textured velvets.
We love the detail of these embroidery fabrics from the collection. Most of these fabrics come in multiple colorways as well.
To check out all of Texture Fabric’s designs and colorways we have access to, click here or stop by Judy’s Custom Workroom to see our fabric books.
Here’s one of our favorite silk patterns on an upholstered chair and pillow. We are imaging beautiful drapery too!
Before and After: Glamorous Bedroom
We are currently working with a client who sent us this thank you letter. She originally called us to simply fix a poorly made table skirt for her bedroom. She was so happy with our work ethic and excited about the ideas we had for her that she wanted to continue working with us. We have completed her master bedroom and are now working on her master bathroom, powder room, and entry.
“I want to thank you for helping me take some bold steps and step out of my comfort zone for without you the beauty that is unfolding before me in my home would never have been possible. You have such a way of gently encouraging one to take a leap of faith with you and then voila! the appreciation of your collaboration is manifested in the “look†and feel of the space. I look forward to the transformation my home and especially my bedroom with your designs and expert craftsmanship…this is so fulfilling and exciting! My sincere appreciation for what initially was a botched table skirt became a complete vision exceeding my expectations!”
We wanted to share this and emphasize again that it does not matter how big or small a project is here. We are happy to help and love when clients are this excited about their transformations.

Color Forecast
As for the next year’s color forecast, we’re predicting
heavy purples, strong silvers, and sunny beiges with a good chance of taupe.
According to an article in Custom Home Magazine, the Color Marketing Group agrees. The CMG, the largest color forecasting organization based in Alexandria, VA announced this spring that p’zazz, a vibrant deep red-purple, which we have seen in past seasons on the fashion runway, is the “it” color for fall/winter 2011 to 2012. According to CMG’s forecast, “expect it to adorn feature walls, accent soft furnishings, and breathe new life into standard hues such as beige, navy, and gray.” Alongside p’zazz, honey moon—a golden hue achieved by blending “the sweet earthiness of honey and the romance of a harvest moon” to conjure upbeat realism—is the golden child for home decor in the near future.

Client Work: Completely Custom!
We are loving the photos we just got back from our photographer of this living and dining space we designed! Our client wanted a clean, contemporary, Santa Barbara look. We believe we gave her that relaxing, casual elegance by furnishing the space with custom designed pieces.
In the living space below, we made the sofa and chairs here at Judy’s Custom Workroom. We also designed the Tibetan silk and wool combination area rug and limestone and wood occasional table on top of it. We love the way the drapery we made compliments the beautiful wood beams and window casings of the room.
Our client had some existing Spanish style furniture including the table and buffet in the dining area that she loved, but she wanted an overall more contemporary look. We designed Spanish style dining chairs but upholstered them in contemporary fabrics and added nail heads for a fresh clean look.
Behind the Scenes at JCW
We would like for you to get familiar with us here at Judy’s Custom Workroom and start introducing you to the hard working members of our team. First up is Damian Elizarraraz.
Damian is our workroom manager and specializes in upholstery and custom furniture. He has worked with us for 15 years. Damian is detail oriented and always up for a challenge. Clients often come in with a photo of an unusual furniture piece they have found online or in a magazine that they absolutely love but cannot find in the stores. At Judy’s Custom Workroom, we are able to create custom headboards, sectional sofas, ottomans, etc. to replicate what our clients have seen, something very special. Damian’s responsibility is to make sure that everything that leaves our workroom is not only visually beautiful, but also functional and expertly crafted. Coworkers and clients alike appreciate Damian’s friendly positive attitude. We are lucky to have him as a part of our team.
